    Ridgefield’s Daily News

For the last part of my trilogy of a story, I have written a cover story on my character, James. She has been the talk of the town this week as she (accidentally) saved Linda Lamplight from falling to her death. James prefers to stay under the radar, and never wants anyone to know who she is. She talked about this in her radio show that was done earlier in the semester, where she was in group therapy with other supernatural beings. She does not wish to be a hero, but can never seem to escape it because her companion is always steering her in the direction of impending danger,…

    Un-Motivational Poster

This assignment was to create an un-motivational poster! I thought it would be funny if I did two people who are obviously having a good time and talking/laughing, and then used a sunny background color. I coupled that with the phrase “please don’t talk to me” because my office has it as their “motto” of the week. Half serious and half as a joke. I made this with a stock image labeled for reuse, and Canva. This assignment was the Everyone is the Worst assignment worth 2.5 stars.

    James’ Backpack

This assignment was to make a ‘logo’ for your name but I wanted to make it of my character’s name! I picked black outlining with a purple fill. For the font, I picked a slight cursive, but not terribly girly, font. For the background, I kept it more simple with a background that looks like a type of fabric. This logo is the embroidery on James’ backpack! This is the Generate Cool Letters assignment worth 3 stars.

    Get Out

I created a minimalist movie poster! This is for the movie Get Out, which was a really popular thriller last year! The symbol I chose for it was the teacup, because it is a key symbol of the movie. It is used to hypnotize people before harvesting their bodies. So, while a teacup it’s self is innocent, it’s use, and depiction here, is actually pretty sinister! I wanted to do the white border around it but i couldn’t find a simple border on Canva (the program I used to make this with), so I had to actually make the border myself. The teacup was a free image that Canva provided…

    Four Icons Make a Story

How was such a simple project so hard? Not hard to make, but hard to think of!! First, I wanted to do Mean Girls since it was just unofficially Mean Girls Day, but I just could not come up with 4 good symbols! So instead, I chose to do my favorite book, which also happens to be a movie! Two are symbols from the movie (that every English teacher probably made you analyze to death), one is the city, and one is where the climax of the book/movie happens. Can you guess what book/movie this is?  This was the One Story/Four Icons worth 3 stars.
